Sketchbook Assignment Part 2

Exercise 4: This exercise focuses on studying an object in plan, elevation, and perspective.
Exercise 5: Creating a generally more interesting sketch by providing a 3D or perspective view of an object, interior, or building rather than a 2D view.
Exercise 6: It is important to view the same object from many angles and positions.
Exercise 7: Incorporating shade and shadow can create an informative sketch, often with more depth than a simple line drawing.
Exercise 8: We view many objects at a time, and these overlapping, complex arrangements can lead to dynamic sketches
Exercise 10: A one point perspective is a 3D view of a space from the location of the viewer (you) and represented in 2D form on paper.
Exercise 11: The main difference between a one point and two point perspective is that there are two vanishing points instead of one.
Exercise 12: Using abstraction as a sketching tool to examine perspective.
Exercise 13: The same method as the one point abstraction but incorporates a two point perspective to create triangular abstractions.
Exercise 14: This exercise studies transitional spaces- spaces that connect the exterior to the interior spaces.
Exercise 15: This exercise explores the contrast between being in an interior space looking out onto an exterior space and being on the exterior looking back into the space.
Exercise 16: This exercise focuses on the detail of a window or glass wall that separates inside from outside.
Exercise 17: When drawing a group of repetitive objects, it is effective to set up perspective guidelines and to study the forms as they recede to the VP.
Exercise 18: This exercise underlines the importance of intense study of an interior both before and during a sketch.
Exercise 19: This exercise emphasizes the sculptural aspects of an interior architectural element such as a curved stair or ceiling.
Exercise 20: 3D objects and spaces can comprise complex layers; some elements protrude while other recede.
Exercise 21: To draw Interior spaces well, you need to understand the principles of layering,
Exercise 22: Interiors can be complex. An overall sketch does not always clearly convey the detail or uniqueness of a space. This exercise uses magnification to move the viewer closer into a space for a sharper view.
Exercise 23: Visiting an interior at different times of the day to see how the natural movement of the sun in the sky changes the shadows within the space.
